Ceremonial Stunners: The Top Four Must Have Wedding Ceremony Decorations

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

You did it. You found the perfect place to host your wedding ceremony. Now how do you personalize it? How do you turn an okay venue into something stunning? With the wedding ceremony decorations you choose.

This isn’t just any event.

You and your fiancée are going to exchange life-long vows. The decorations for your wedding ceremony should be beautiful. Personal. And reflect the depth of your love.

Have you considered a theme? A theme can give your ceremony a pulled
together look. Do you both love the beach? Or have ties to a particular culture?

Choose elements from your theme and work them into the following suggestions. But you don’t need a theme to have a beautiful wedding ceremony.

Creating a stunning ceremony is easier than you think

Invest in these decorations for your wedding, and turn any facility into the location of your dreams.

Living Plants

These decorations can tie your wedding ceremony to the season.

Dwarf Japanese Maples in the Fall. Baby Christmas trees decorated in your wedding colors in the winter. Ferns in the Spring. Sculpted topiary in the summer.

Or you can chose plants that fit your theme. Bonsai for an Asian-inspired ceremony. Bird of Paradise for a tropical wedding.

You can give the plants to anyone who helped put the wedding together.
Or use them to decorate your new home.

Arches

This is a great decoration for outdoor ceremonies. Or weddings in a private home. The arches can be simple or ornate, large or small.

Look for arches made out of wood, metal, or even balloons.

An arch will frame you nicely and keep the eyes of your guests focused forward.

Flowers

These are by far the most versatile decorations for a wedding ceremony.
Lay some on the altar. Wrap them around the legs of a chuppa. Arrange them on a
pedestal.

Rose petals sprinkled down the main aisle add a sophisticated touch.

Dramatic Lighting

Consider having your wedding ceremony by candlelight. Tea lights are great decorations for smaller venues. Float them in water. Place them in colored globes.

Dress up a long aisle with candelabra and dripping candles. Torches are particularly dramatic decorations for an outdoor wedding ceremony.

Will the ceremony be at the beach? Small bonfires can provide both light and heat.

You’ll always remember your wedding ceremony. Make it a beautiful memory. Use these decorating tips and turn it into a stunning affair. Even if Martha Stewart doesn’t return your phone calls.

Defense

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Here in the U.S., we’re near the end of the NFL, or professional American football, season. The university-level season just finished. A national championship at the university level means pride, home-town glory, and a better chance at a big-money professional contract. A national title at the professional level means… pride, home-town glory, and lots of money.

At this level, deep into the playoffs, teams are often well-matched and games can go down to the last few seconds. When a team has the ball and a very short time to score, they often go into what’s called a “hurry-up offense.” The opposing team, needing to prevent the offense from scoring, goes into a very conservative “prevent defense.” Commentators groan when they see a prevent defense. Why? Because, often as not, the only thing the “prevent defense” prevents is victory.

I have a friend who talks to me about his efforts to meet women. He uses Internet dating sites, trades emails, occasionally meets someone in person. He’s told me about some of these encounters. A few times he’s been terribly excited, having just made what he’s convinced is some wonderful connection with a new woman. But sure enough, within a few weeks, she’s called it off.

Funny thing, outside of these new dates, he never has anything good to say about women. In fact, I think he likes individual women just fine, but doesn’t like women as a whole very much. So, in his dating habits, is he really in a sincere courtship mode? Or does he actually go into his “prevent defense,” acting as if he wanted a relationship, but in effect preventing exactly what he’s trying to achieve?

In Lesson Twelve of Prosperity, “Overcoming the Thought of Lack,” Charles Fillmore writes:

–We mold omnipresent substance with our mind and make from it all the things that our mind conceives. If we conceive lack and poverty we mold that. If we visualize with a bountiful eye, we mold plenty from the ever-present substance.

You’ve heard that we can only hold one thought at a time in our minds, right? If you warn your child not to spill the milk, what mental picture does the child form? Spilled milk. If I tell you not to think of a pink elephant, what immediately comes to mind? You can’t not think of it, can you?

If that’s true, how can preventing hurt lead us to satisfaction? How can preventing failure lead us to success? The answer, surely, is that it can’t. The thought that dominates is the one we will manifest, that will become our reality.

We often operate out of fear. Rather than leading healthy lifestyles, we try to avoid getting sick. Rather than actively working towards prosperity, we focus on avoiding poverty. But that’s a “prevent defense.” We don’t save our way to prosperity. We don’t hoard our way to wealth. Abundance can only happen when we take positive action toward it, with a mindset of gratitude and acceptance toward what’s coming rather than worry about what we want to leave behind.

Do What Feels Good For You and Find Freedom!

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

A thought is an energy. Energy always wants to manifest itself.

Energy can not be stocked or blocked. It will get out anyway. If you do something to prevent your energy from flowing, it will find another way to express itself. If you do not follow your own energy, your intuition, if you swim against the stream of your own flow, energy will express itself in sickness, tiredness, depression, skin diseases, temper tantrums, agressiveness and other not so pleasant things. So why not follow the road where your energy takes you? This is your road, your way!

Do you know the song “I did it my way”? Well, if you do things your way, if you dare being yourself, you will feel the energy.

As long as you try to be somebody else to please your parents, peers, husband, wife, boss, children, neighbours or whatever, your energy will be stuck. Ok, you say, but won’t I become selfish, an outlaw, a social disaster by following my own road? No! You will become yourself. That is freedom : to be yourself.

See the world like a big wardrobe. Everybody has his own costume. There is only one that fits you perfectly. As long as you try to be someone else, you are walking around with a costume that is either too small or too big for you. You don’t feel comfortable in it. And what else is, you “stole” a costume that belongs to someone else! That means you are not at the right place doing the right thing with the right people! You took someone else’s place, someone else’s costume!

How can you know if you are at the right place, doing the right thing with the right people? There is a very simple criterion to find out : the questions stop in your mind! This spinning machine in your head that was torturing you for years has just stopped by itself! You can feel it : you feel good, everything is “right”, your talents are asked for and you have the greatest pleasure to offer them to the those around you. Everything falls at his place. Questions vanish and make place for peace.

As long as you torture yourself with all these questions, it means you still didn’t find your right spot on earth. You are doing an activity that somebody else should be doing. And your “job” is getting done by someone else who is not at his right place either! You see? It’s like a puzzle : if everyone is at his right place doing the thing he knows the best, everyone would be at peace, filled with energy and health, and everyone would live in wealth.

Go searching for your right place. The moment you stop being harassed by so many questions and you feel your energy flowing in your veins, you know this is it! You are on your road, your road to freedom. This IS freedom!

Look for it, go for it!

Is it Possible to Repair Bad Credit?

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Bad credit can be devastating to your financial status, in that it gives you a negative influence; it can also, at times, be an obstruction for you if you buy on credit or get a loan. A negative credit rating also results in a high fee being levied, thus increasing the overall debt.
In such cases, people mostly resort to credit repair services, and usually end up paying high fees to settle bad credit. There are other ways to balance bad credit; and they happen to be easy as well as free.

To begin with, determine the exact reason of your bad credit. It is not possible to repair bad credit until you’re fully familiar with the reason you got into it. A few likely causes for this problem could be a posteponed payment of a loan; maybe some unforeseen events such as medical bills, job difficulties, etc.

Once you’ve established the core cause to your problem, work your way towards the core and focus on a solution that’s practical and effective. Get an idea of your current financial status by examining your recent credit reports. Make sure you keep track of current credits and transactions. Use the current reports from your creditors or yearly credit reports to assess your financial position.

To actually fix your bad credit and get your financial status back in a positive standing, you need to start regulating your expenses and adjust your lifestyle. Don’t delay paying your expenses. If you can, pay them as soon as they arrive. This will avoid delayed payment charges, if in case an unexpected problem comes up and prevents you from paying your expenses on time. Level down your credit card routine as much as you can. To some, this might feel laughable, but if you look back, you’ll understand that the ancient people lived a better life than we do today, and they did not use credit cards. Consistency in bill payments is the vital point here. Slowly pay up all your credit bills and you’ll finally repair your financial standing.

People often propose that you talk to your creditors. If you pull the right strings and negotiate wisely, you could end up with discounts, instead of surcharges. Be positive and precautious. While talking to your creditors is not a surefire way of improving bad credit, it certainly can be effective.

Prevention is the best method. Instead of having to face bad credit, why not hold it off in the first place? Pay your bills on time, do not put off credit payments, and cut down on your credit card usage. However, if you do fall into a bad credit situation, then follow the tips above. Bad credit can at times damage your social profile and prevent access to loans on convenient terms, mortgages, etc.

How to Choose a Website Design Company

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

The internet is full of web design companies pleading for your business. They all look great! Not sure which company to select? By following these simple steps, you’ll be able to select the perfect designer for your business.

1. The search for a web designer. Unless you really feel that face to face meetings are a priority, there is really no reason why you can’t hire a web designer outside your local area. Most people turn to search engines on the internet for their search.

2. The designer’s portfolio. Once you stumble on a website that catches your interest, look for samples of their work. Freelancer or business, anyone who claims to be a web designer has design portfolio. Because taste is a personal choice, it’s possible you won’t “like” all of the examples in the designers portfolio. But even if you don’t like the particular colors or theme they used for a particular client, look further into the design. Ask yourself these questions:

Are there designs clean and crisp?

Does the overall design have a professional appearance?

Is the navigation clear and easy to use?

How Is their language, grammar and spelling usage?

3. Check references. If you think the designer can do a good job for you, check their references. You’ll find contact information for past clients in the designer’s portfolio. They can give you their real life experience with the design company.

4. Selecting a web designer. If your comfortable with the references and like the examples in the portfolio contact the design company to discuss the requirements of your project. By corresponding with the designer via email of telephone, you’ll learn a lot about how responsive and flexible they are. If you’re working with a timeline and/or a budget, explain this and be sure they can accommodate your needs. Keep in mind that not every web design company has the capabilities to do what you need. Be sure to make your requirements clear up front so you don’t get stuck with extra charges or delays.

5. Getting pricing for your website. Request web design quotes from your favorite companies. Make sure bids are comparable. One company may include website maintenance in the package and one may not. Some of these “extras” can be very valuable. Check item by item to be sure you know what your paying for.

6. Partnership. Engaging with a web design company should be a partnership. Let them work for you by offering useful information about your business and the image you want to portray. Participation on your part will contribute to an overall successful design that will meet or exceed your expectations.

Even though some of these steps seem obvious, its often easy to overlook the simplest things when we have a lot to do. We hope These steps will help you on your quest to find the perfect web design company.

Fashion’s Icon Dead at 71

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

The world of fashion grieves as it mourns the passing of one of the most celebrated icons in the industry – Yves Saint Laurent. The successor to Christian Dior, Saint Laurent blitzed through the ranks of fashion designers in 1958 and established himself as one of fashion’s most recognizable names and pop culture’s mainstay icons.

Saint Laurent had gotten his inspiration from the streets of Paris and New York and had proceeded to revolutionize how modern women should dress. His style was to include the ordinary and add such element into a fusion with elegance and sophistication. This concept of Saint Laurent was clearly exemplified by his peasant-inspired clothing line in the 1970s, and the adding of the army-navy feel to his jacket series. Glamour dresses made by Saint Laurent often shouted the influence of artists such as Picasso and Matisse.

He was, in the simplest sense of the word, a star. His stellar career in the fashion industry was put to a halt in 2002 when he retired. Still, his name weighed heavy in the fashion scene. Like any star, his light has been snuffed out and is nothing more than a memory, one that is legendary in its magnitude.

He died on June 1, 2008, having succumbed to brain cancer. He was 71.

Planning Your Web Hosting Reseller Plan

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

The reselling of web hosting services became a profitable business. With an investment of one hundred dollars, you can get up to one thousand, but this involves a lot of work by your side of course. Each important company has a web hosting reseller plan and many times, it includes a dedicated server for your hosting account.

Reselling web hosting services means to split up the bandwidth and the disk space to lots of smaller customers, and main objective is to get from your clients at least the money you have spent for your reseller account (on the other hand – why not to get 20-30% more that you pay for your web hosting reseller plan?). You will be able to provide the high quality web hosting services to your customers without being forced to learn everything about server maintenance or work with sophisticated hardware equipment.

Before you rent a dedicated server, you should learn how to use a reseller control panel otherwise you may lose lot of precious time. The giant companies that provide web hosting reseller plans include also a software program called Control Panel, which helps you to administrate everything that can be managed on your server. The first things that you should learn are:

- creating ad deleting accounts
- sharing the disc space and bandwidth between your clients.

Reselling web-hosting services is a very competitive business and your success depends on the reliability of your dedicated server.

There is, also, the option to buy a Virtual Server account but this means that on the real server, there are hosted more virtual servers, and your services quality depends on your server neighbors. Do your best to rent a strong dedicated server with your web hosting reseller plan, if you want to impress your future customers.

You can get much more money from your clients if you split your resources to hundreds of small accounts. However, it is very difficult to keep under observation all the users and if you do not pay enough attention to this detail, all your customers will be disappointed and soon you fill find bad reviews about your services all over the internet.

Ask your company about the feature of hosting multiple domain names. Not all your clients will love to host their sites on a sub domain and you may lose the most important customers.

Check out the prices for customer support. It is useless to rent a server with a web hosting reseller plan at thousand miles away without having knowledge of server maintenance if you do not have specialized personnel to help you, at low prices of course.

And final suggestion: do not host on the same server both important clients and customers with free or cheap account. Many of the cheap account are opened for e-mail spam, search engine spam, adult or illegal content. In this case, all your customers will suffer the consequences.

I Don’t Need A Website

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

The small business owner who proudly claims he doesn’t need a website, because he doesn’t sell anything online and his “word of mouth” customer pipeline works just fine, is misinformed at best or ignorant, at worst. Why doesn’t he just tell you to come back in a year for the court-ordered liquidation auction? Hindsight will be 20-20 then.

The truth is, everyone needs a website. It doesn’t matter if you sell anything online or not, your prospects want to learn more about you before investing the time to drive over, or making a call to your place asking for more information. We live in a cynical world that craves more useful information. Online research is king. Informed customers are queen and you better at least be in the court–and not as the jester.

The biggest “I don’t need a website” offenders are doctors, attorneys and smaller shops or service businesses. Individually and collectively they are wrong. We are a fluid buying group with little loyalty anymore. Someone presents a better idea and we jump. Someone woos us and reminds us of why we were so brilliant as to choose them, we stay put. Do the math, What does it mean to you to stop customer churn?

Physicians point to a crowded waiting room and tell you referrals and word of mouth work just fine. That may not be a premise you want to take to the bank in today’s world of very well informed patients with health insurance plans in a state of flux. Here today, gone tomorrow.
Dust off the “accepting new patients” sign.

Lawyers have a built in indifference to any advertising save the bronze “name of the firm” placard hanging near their front door. Maybe personal injury and workers comp barristers killed marketing for all practitioners of the law. The problems are: (A) those that shop for legal advice want to know more about the attorney and the practice (B) Lots of people still laugh (a lot) at the old joke that says, “What do you call a lawyer found at the bottom of the ocean? A good start.”

Businesspeople, those that should be most open to at least studying new forms of advertising, usually have illogical excuses for not having a website. Statements like “it just doesn’t work for my business”, “I don’t even own a computer”, “my customers don’t use the Internet”, are a piercing death knell for new business development or customer retention.

The truth is websites and the marketing and email campaigns that go with them are here to stay. The statistics are irrefutable: Most consumers, your consumers, are heading to the net to make buying decisions. If they find you there with a well crafted site, they are at least interested, and at best, buying. If not, your competitor gets the nod.

Stake your place on the Internet. Get a website. Learn how to market with it, how to increase word of mouth and referral customers and you’ll see new substantial new cash flow while cutting costs and becoming a customer favorite. It’s the way business is done now. Get on board or get run over.
