TIPS

  • Set the festive party mood early on with invitations. Get creative and craft and hand write them on music scrolls. Deliver the rolled up scrolls, tied with a beautiful red ribbon.
  • Purchase Santa hats, reindeer antler or some other costume item that everyone can wear to indicate that you’re a group of carolers.
  • Ask your guests to come over for a pre-party an hour before you plan on caroling. The best time to carol is between 6 and 9pm.
  • Be sure to stop caroling at 9pm.
  • Visit only the homes of people you or your guests know.
  • Give songbooks with lyrics to your guests so that everyone can sing along with confidence.
  • Remind everyone to dress comfortably and warmly since you’ll be caroling outside.
  • Encourage festive attire in red and green.
  • Use caution. Be sure children have someone looking after them.
  • Keep flashlights handy with fresh batteries.
  • Use tambourines or sleigh bells to enhance the sound of your songs.
